The NEKMAT Marketing Project currently includes the sales project at the Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Market as well as sales project at agro markets and the ikan rakyat fish sales.


The online sales project is carried out in response to the call of the NEKMAT Chairman and according to the development of current trends in terms of marketing. The NEKMAT Marketing Project has made plans to carry out online marketing to market fresh fish and fish products, Q’Fish and fisheries-based products produced by NEKMAT.


The online sales project includes 2 methods, namely through a portal developed and managed by NEKMAT, which is NEKMATBIZ, and using the leading e-commerce platform Shopee, which was implemented on 20 April 2020.


Promotional activities carried out to promote the NEKMATBIZ website:-

Double Savings Package Promotion to attract users to buy in packages based on packages provided

Promotion on news portals and mass media by NEKMAT and LKIM to introduce users to NEKMAT’s online fish sales website NEKMATBIZ



Online sales via Shopee e-commerce portal began on 20 April 2020 in collaboration between NEKMAT, LKIM and Shopee as well as Lalamove as delivery agents.


NEKMAT and LKIM agreed to collaborate with Shopee for the purpose of adding an online sales platform apart from the NEKMATBIZ website. Shopee was chosen as it is a popular e-commerce site among Malaysians with 80 million downloads. Shopee has given NEKMAT the ‘Mall’ status which is the standard for products certified by Shopee such as Samsung, Microsoft and Huawei brands.
