To ensure increased production of PPHP and to always operate in a conducive condition, several programmes have been implemented as follows:
Maintenance of Fisheries Product Processing Centres
To ensure that PPHP continues to be in a good condition and able to operate smoothly, upgrading works have been made continuously. Continuous maintenance that has been carried out indirectly has helped PPHP to increase production capacity as well as assist in the certification process such as the Industrial Responsible Safe Food Certification Scheme (MeSTI) as well as the Halal Certificate from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Cooperation between the Fisheries Product Processing Centres (PPHP) and the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC)
In order to further increase the collection, processing and packaging of seafood products in PPHP, LKIM has also established a strategic partnership with the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC). Among the ongoing collaborations are:
Processing, Packaging and Marketing Centre Development Programme (J3P) and Mechanization and Automation Programme
The programme is one of the incentives from the ministry to help PPHP obtain MeSTI and HALAL certification. In addition, this programme is also to increase production and become more competitive.
