Agriculture Livelihood Programme

The Agriculture Livelihood Programme or Rezeki Tani is a poverty alleviation and income increase programme under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI). The implementation of the Agriculture Livelihood Programme is the responsibility of three (3) Departments and seven (7) Agencies under the Ministry namely DOA, DOS, DVS, FAMA, LPP, LKIM, LPNM, MARDI, MADA and KADA.

The objectives of the Agriculture Livelihood Programme are to:

  • Help increase participants’ income through economic projects involving production/processing/distribution/marketing activities related to agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries;
  • Improve participants’ knowledge, skills and competitiveness through training under the Agriculture Livelihood Programme; and
  • Identify participants who have the potential to be promoted to a higher level.

Criteria for participants in the Agiculture Livelihood Programme:

  • Registered in the eKasih System with a household income of up to 20% after the current Poverty Line Income (PGK) limit;
  • Interested, experienced, skilled or currently carrying out production / processing / distribution / marketing activities related to agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries;
  • Participants have never received any economic assistance (subject to the consideration of the implementing Department and Agency); and
  • Participants aged between 18 and 60 years old
